From March 14 to 17, the Grand Island High School bands had the privilege of hosting Shane Goforth as an artist in residence.

Goforth, a leading band director, clinician and presenter, spent his time working with students in rehearsals and small group lessons. He currently serves as the director of bands at North Shore Senior High School in Houston, Texas. His groups have been recognized at the regional, state and national levels. Most recently, the North Shore Senior High School Wind Ensemble performed at the prestigious Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois.

Goforth also performed with the Grand Island High School Jazz band at the All-Island Jazz Concert. Special thanks to the GIHS Instrumental Music Boosters for helping bring Goforth to Grand Island for the week and offering his musical expertise in promoting the vision of excellence in the Grand Island bands.
