The Grand Island High School students in Susan MacPherson’s College French class recently learned firsthand how to paint like the Impressionist artists of the 19th century. The juniors studied in detail the lives and art of several impressionist painters. They created and presented projects to the class using Google slides. The students worked closely with art teacher Mrs. Gaiek who taught them the techniques necessary to paint like these artists. Each student painted his own version of Monet’s painting of the Water Lily Pond. This unique collaboration between the language and art departments created some wonderful masterpieces.
