UPDATE: Due to severe weather, the Thursday, Jan. 31 performance of Grand Island High School’s musical, “Into the Woods”, has been cancelled.  In lieu of the Thursday night show, a matinee performance has been added for Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m.  All pre-sale tickets for Thursday night will be honored at the Saturday matinee in the reserved seats previously selected.  If those tickets need to be moved to either a Friday or Saturday night performance, please bring them to the box office either night to be honored with new seats.

Students of Grand Island Senior High School will perform this year's winter musical, "Into the Woods" on Friday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Grand Viking Theater, 1100 Ransom Road. Tickets are $10 and will be available for purchase online at grandislandschools.org. "Into the Woods" is written by James Lapine with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. The story follows a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
