Grand Island High School theater students took time out from rehearsals for the high school musical "Wizard of Oz" to receive teaching from a Broadway actor on Dec. 20.
Christopher Rice-Thomson, a cast member from the national touring company of the musical "Hamilton," visited GIHS to present a workshop called "Acting Through Song" on the Grand Viking Theater stage.
Rice-Thomson worked for an hour teaching the workshop and then spent another half-hour after the workshop for a Q&A session.
"Our students are so excited to have a professional come to work with us," said Amy Boutet, producer of the GIHS musical, which runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3, 4 and 5. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Feb. 3 and 4, and 6 p.m. Feb. 5. Before the finale performance on Feb. 5, a meet-a-greet with the cast will start at 5 p.m.
