Annually, ten students from each of the district’s schools are chosen as the “K-12 Artist of the Month”. This designation honors and recognizes artistic achievers at each grade level. Students selected for this award creatively use the arts to express their unique artistic points-of-view, as well as displaying the ability to creatively tackle and solve visual problems artistically. They are students who excel in many facets of the visual arts. The first student artist selected for the 2018-2019 school year is Megan Pinzel, an eighth grade art student.
Megan is meticulous and talented young artist who applies herself fully to each assignment. The quality of her work is exceptional and consistently displays great thought and attention to detail. She is a creative student who constantly works to better her ability, thinks outside the box and is capable of using art as an expressive language. She is adept at manipulating artistic media to express her unique and individual artistic voice.
Nora Klein, Megan’s art teacher, cites her positive attitude and work ethic as additional reasons that she was selected as a recipient of this award. The art department congratulates Megan and wishes her much success in all of her future endeavors.
