Second Grade Team at Kaegebein Celebrates Big Wins in Health & Fitness Challenge

There’s excitement in the air at Kaegebein Elementary School as the second grade team celebrates their success in this year’s Independent Health Foundation’s Fitness for Kids Challenge!

Through their participation, students focused on building healthy habits through physical activity and nutrition—and their efforts paid off in a big way. The team earned a $125 grant from Wegmans Food Markets to support a “Taste the Rainbow” experience. That special tasting event took place on St. Patrick’s Day, giving students a fun and festive opportunity to explore a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables while learning about healthy eating.

Today, the celebration continues as students enjoy a well-earned DJ dance party with DJ Milk and DJ Yes! The high-energy event is a fun and exciting way to recognize their hard work and commitment to making healthy choices. The party also highlighted the healthy goals students worked toward throughout the challenge, including nine hours of sleep, five servings of fruits and vegetables each day, limiting screen time to two hours or less, getting at least one hour of physical activity, choosing zero sugary drinks, and always striving to “be your best you.” The number 95210 served as a fun and memorable reminder of these important daily habits.

Kaegebein is incredibly proud of its second graders for embracing the challenge and setting a positive example for the entire school community. Today’s celebration is just one of many ways their efforts are being recognized!
