• Welcome to the Second Grade Classroom of

    Mrs. Booker!

    READ! READ! READ!

As part of our daily homework routine, students are expected to read for at least 20 minutes.  They are to read a minimum of 25 books in the school year.

Students have a reading log in the front of their agendas.  Once the student has read and practiced reading the book fluently, parents should ask questions about the story to improve comprehension.  Then, parents are asked to verify that books are read with their initials or signature.  I am requesting that one practiced book be entered into the reading log each week, even though more books may have been read.  Thank you!

Research has shown that children who read regularly and at the appropriate reading level have better achievement!
