Welcome to Mrs. Keipper's speech and language web site.
The Grand Island Central School District's speech and language services are designed to diagnose and treat language and speech delays and disorders. All children entering kindergarten and at the end of 2nd grade are screened by a Speech Language Pathologist. Based upon the screening results, an evaluation may be recommended.
Parents who are
concerned about their child's articulation and/or language skills are encouraged to confer
with their child's classroom teacher, school speech language pathologist or building principal. Screening
and/or evaluation may be available. Speech/language evaluation results determine whether speech improvement services through the District are warranted or if a referral
to the Committee on Special Education is recommended. Under some circumstances, private therapy may be recommended.
