"If you are wondering where tomorrow's innovative business leaders are coming from, look no further than Mrs. Fonte's and Mrs. Gentz's ...classes at Connor Middle School..."   TheBridge

"What a great experience the entrepreneurship project was...I loved that they had two opportunities to be interviewed, and that they were required to dress appropriately for it.  The follow-up thank you notes and all the other activities associated with this unit were wonderful real-life lessons.  The kids were talking about this experience outside of school, and it really seemed to get their attention-the usual topic of conversation seems to be video games and sports, so it was nice to see them so engaged with a school assignment!"

"I learned how important it is to always be prepared for whatever might be thrown your way."               -A Former Student

    About Mrs. Fonte:

Having taught this course for 10 years in Lockport, as well as 20 years here on Grand Island, I am eager to continue to share my knowledge and experience with the students of my own community as they explore healthy lifestyles and career options for the future.  In addition to teaching, I enjoy advising JV DECA which brings my in-class curriculum to life!  Every day, I try to learn new ways to become a more effective teacher, mentor and team member in the education of tomorrow's leaders.

    My Philosophy

Adapted from "Only A Teacher":  I am a FACS teacher.  What I do and say are being absorbed by young minds who will echo these images across the ages.  My lessons will be immortal, affecting people yet unborn...people I will never see or know.  The future of the world is in my classroom today, a future with potential for good.  The pliable minds of tomorrow's leaders will be molded by what I do.  Thank God I have a calling to the greatest profession of all.  I will be vigilant everyday, least I lose one fragile opportunity to improve tomorrow.
