Welcome to Grand Island High School Athletics

Our Athletic Program is built on the ideals of Viking-pride, commitment, performance in both athletics and academics, setting group goals, the ideals of sportsmanship, safety, and chemical-free participation. The program is designed to provide a wide variety of opportunities for student athletes to be involved in various levels of athletic competition. The expectation is for excellence both on and off the playing field while further refining personal attributes such as commitment, dedication, an appreciation and respect for others, personal wellness, responsibility and reverence for the privilege of being a member of a Viking team.

2024 Fall Sports Tryouts

Junior Varsity and Varsity Football may begin on August 19. Modified Football may begin on August 21. All other Fall sports may begin on Monday, August 26.

2024 Fall Sports Sign Up

Parents & students must register and complete all forms using our registration platform, Final Forms. Click the appropriate link to the left of our page to begin that process. Every athlete must register EACH season.

APP Test

Our APP Fitness Testing for Fall sports will take place on Monday, August 12 on the HS track. Students must report for the 9 am start of testing.

To register for the APP testing, students/parents MUST register by accessing Final Forms and selecting APP.

Interested 7th and 8th graders are encouraged to visit our APP tab located to the left of our Athletic Homepage. Please read the information thoroughly.

The APP Test is NOT required for students playing Modified Sports.
