Studio in Ceramics
Remember how much fun it was to play in the mud? In ceramics you can still do that, and make beautiful pieces of pottery as an end result!
We will learn the following 5 different hand-building techniques, and use them throughout the school year:
• pinch
• slab
• coil
• hold (press, slump, hump)
• wheel
We will also learn to finish your ceramic pieces in a variety of different ways including:
• glaze
• underglaze
• stain
You will get dirty in this class, so bring something to tie back long hair, and wear a smock if you don't want to stain your clothing.
