Directions: Using the links provided, answer the following questions about World War II on a separate sheet of paper.
Site I - Go to YouTube and watch Crash Course US History #35 and watch the video which gives a quick overview of World War II and answer the following questions. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Objoad6rG6U) This is a quick overview video of America in World War II.
1. How did America respond as European and Asian countries became more belligerent or warlike?

3. According to the video clip – give one argument one argument against and one argument in favor of dropping the atomic bombs.
Site II - Go to the US Holocaust Museum timeline and answer the following questions. (http://www.ushmm.org/wlc/en/article.php?ModuleId=10007306) This timeline gives major important dates from world War II.
4. Chose 10 items dealing with America from the timeline to create a timeline of your own highlighting AMERICAN involvement in the war.
5. What was the Battle of Britain and when did it occur?
6. When did America declare war and officially join World War II? Why?
Site III – Go to the Air and Space museum page at the Smithsonian and answer the following questions (http://www.airspacemag.com/military-aviation/history-ww2-25-airplanes-180954056/?no-ist) – Note you will have to follow the links to the articles on each type of plane in question! This page goes over facts and stories of the major aircraft used in World War II.
7. What two factors make the P-51 Mustang the “best fighter of World War II” ? (Be specific)
8. What was the B-29 Super Fortress and what important role did they have in ending the war?
9. Look over the list of planes and choose one and write a brief paragraph summarizing the main idea of the article.
Site IV – Go to the Armed forces history Museum and read about the top US Generals in World War II and answer the following questions. (http://armedforcesmuseum.com/top-world-war-ii-generals/) This site contains very short biographies on some of the major military leaders of World War II.
10. List the six generals posted here and two facts about each one related to World War II.
Site V – Go to the History learning site and study one of the battles that America was involved in (http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/world-war-two/famous-battles-of-world-war-two/) This is a British history site.
11. , Write a brief paragraph summarizing the battle and America’s Role in the battle.
