Choir is a non-audition ensemble.  Choir provides students training in basic choral techniques and musicianship.  Emphasis is placed on vocal technique, sight singing, and overall musicianship skills.  Weekly Voice Labs are an integral part of this course (mandatory and graded) and are offered on a rotating weekly schedule.  Four major performances are given each year.  All levels of experience are welcome.

For the 2024-2025 School Year

Being a member of the Grand Island High School choral department is an honor and a privilege.  It is my honor and privilege to be the director!  Due to the uncertainty and ever changing healthy & safety mandates of the 2024-25 school year, all concerts/events are subject to change and/or revision.  If in-person concerts are permitted, attendance at the events on the dates listed below (table) should be regarded as mandatory, graded and non-negotiable.  If a student is absent from an event, (other than family emergency or natural disaster) the student may receive a significantly lowered grade for the marking period.  Please make note of the dates on your home calendars, and notify me of any concert conflicts in writing as soon as possible.
