The Grand Island Central School District uses the Raptor Visitor Management System across all schools. The system is utilized in all district buildings during regular school hours. After-school events and activities may require people to sign in at the front desk area but will not require IDs to be scanned for entry.

Raptor is a web-based software application that provides an effective and efficient manner in which to track visitors in and out of the schools, helping to increase protection for our staff and our students. The system allows schools to electronically check all visitors against registered sexual offender databases, produce visitor badges, and monitor visitor hours.

ALL visitors must enter at the following locations districtwide:

• District Office: Door 56
• Middle School Complex: Door 51
• High School Complex: Door 1 (Door 21 is student and staff use only)
• Kaegebein Elementary: Door 1
• Sidway Elementary: Door 1
• Huth Elementary: Door 1

Please note that visitors are any individuals who are not a regular staff member or student of the school.

Visitors must present a valid government issued Identification such as a driver’s license, or state ID, to be scanned electronically. Once the ID is scanned, a badge will be printed within seconds including name, photograph, date, time and destination/purpose of the visit. Additional information from the ID is not gathered, and any other information connected to the ID is not part of the system and is not accessible to the users.

Acceptable forms of identification for the Raptor system are any form of government-issued identification with a 2D barcode or a Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) barcode as illustrated in the images below.
